Beacon Youth Project’s (BYP) aim is to meet the needs of young people 11-18 years old living, studying or working in Wallingford, with a particular focus on young people not already accessing alternative forms of youth work in the town. Our goal is to work holistically, promoting activities which encourage physical, emotional, social and spiritual well-being.
BYP works in partnership with local schools, agencies and other youth related services, offering targeted support and interventions including one-to-one mentoring, small group work and youth initiated activities.
BYP was launched in February 2013, and is currently headed up by Ridgeway Youth Worker, Karen Whiting. In September 2018, BYP welcomed youth work intern, Joe Loescher to the team.
BYP receives funding from Wallingford Town Council.
