A number of people have asked me for my notes from last Sunday’s message in which we covered an outline of the Gospel from the book of Roman’s. As my notes are not fit to publish and I didn’t have the foresight to print the points on a bookmark, here is a quick summary.
The Roman’s Road, just like the Roman Road which ran past the home in which I grew up, is direct and uncompromising. It does however provide a simple way by which we can share the Gospel with others. The five steps are; 1) Who needs Salvation? Rom 3:23; 2) Why we need Salvation? Rom 6:23; 3) How God provides Salvation. Rom 5:8; 4) How we receive Salvation? Rom 10:13; 5). The consequences of Salvation. Rom 5:1; Rom 8:1 and a myriad of others!
Although I encourage you to read and study, both this and other frameworks of the Gospel, I urge you not be bound by any. Rather like a talented and practiced musician is able to improvise, allowing God to lead you along with your learning and experience by His Holy Spirit.
Lastly, here is a challenge for you to take up for own encouragement. Why not read the book of Romans with a pen and paper and write down all the blessings and benefits that are yours through Jesus? I would be delighted to share notes with anyone who was willing!
Yours and His, Gareth
