I am convinced that if we can grasp the glorious truths revealed in Paul’s letter to the Romans, then we will have grasped the glory of the Gospel of God. So what does that mean in practice? That we can simply quote chapter and verse? That we can debate the meaning of each and every argument? No. In Romans 11:33-36, Paul writes……
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom andknowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!
“Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counsellor?”
“Who has ever given to God,
that God should repay them?”
For from him and through him and for him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen.
Paul starts by saying Oh. I guess we might say Wow, or even Whooaa! For both Paul and ourselves, the Gospel should be so much more than an agreed worldview; it should be a life-changing reality that leads us to overflow in praise with both awe wonder!
Every blessing, Gareth
