I want to share with you something that should thrill your heart from the brilliant American preacher and teacher A.W. Tozer. Tozer writes ‘An infinite God can give all of Himself to each of His children. He does not distribute Himself that each may have a part, but to each one He gives all of Himself as fully as if there were no others’.
I don’t know about you, but I find that statement truly astonishing. God doesn’t give a little bit of himself to you and impart something else to me. Rather, in a way that is only possible for God, he gives all of himself to you and all of himself to me. In practice this means, when we pray, we receive his undivided attention. When we worship, we receive his total appreciation and when we confess our sin, we are overwhelmed by his undiluted grace.
I guess therefore that the question must be asked; in view of these glorious truths, what part of ourselves are we willing to give to him?
