On Monday, Tracey and I will be heading off to the Life in the Spirit Conference. Although from the moment I arrive, to the moment I leave, I tend to be ‘bonkers busy’, I really appreciate the time away. Why? Not only because I meet up with old mates, but because inevitably, I meet with God!
Like Jesus so often demonstrated in His earthly ministry, there are times we need to draw aside in order to meet with God. Although I believe that conferences can be helpful; books beneficial; and online resources, useful; the thing that we all need, in order to grow spiritually and live righteously is to meet with and receive from God.
In John’s Gospel, we read that Jesus and his disciples attended the feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem. John writes ‘On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.’ (John 7:37)
Therefore, I share this verse with you in the hope that this week, it will encourage you to ‘step aside’, to draw near and receive that which only God can give!
Yours and His
