The Lord of the Harvest Sun 15th Jan

I am thrilled that this Sunday morning we will be celebrating the expansion of our CAP Debt Centre in order to serve Didcot and its surrounding areas.  Only two years ago, we gathered with St. Mary’s, Cholsey and Wallingford Baptist at the Regal Centre in order to launch this ministry. As we commissioned Sue Bright as Centre Manager, we had little idea of how the ministry would grow over the coming months. Praise God that we currently have fifteen clients paying into a Debt Management Programme and saw five individuals from four different families go debt free in 2016 alone!

In order to extend this ministry we will be welcoming Didcot Baptist Church, Kings Church, Ridgeway, Didcot and St Matthew’s Harwell with Chilton as full partners into the charity. Furthermore, having already employed Catherine Boddy as a Debt Coach earlier this year, we are however already looking for someone else to serve in Didcot for one day per week.

On one occasion during His earthly ministry, the Lord Jesus sent out a team of seventy-two in order that they may make His message known. Jesus said to them “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” (Luke 10:2) In light of this, I ask that you join me in asking that The Lord would add to the existing team of trustees, staff and volunteers in order to see those in debt set free. Let us also pray that through this amazing ministry those who do not yet know The Lord would experience His love, grace and power to save.

Yours, Gareth
